  • We have been coming to Izaak Walton for 30 years and the new rendition is just as good(if not better!) than the last ownership group. Service was impeccable, with great Montana hospitably. I love they kept the "charm" while updating needed infrastructure. We will be back!!!

  • Many of the updates were appreciated! The rooms looked fresh. Dinner was tasty and not over priced. One disappointment was the fact that they weren’t using the real fireplace in the lobby. In its place they had a YouTube video of a fake fire. It was tacky and unnecessary.

  • We loved our stay and the additions the new owners added to the property like allowing dogs and being very dog friendly and giving day cross country ski passes with our stay! We have gone here in years past and were concerned the new owners were going to take away the montana and historical feel of the property with remodel but they dod not.. just great add ons. Microwave and frig in rooms and a great varity of meals on menu. Our only complaints would be the chairs in lobby area were more for looks and not comfy for reading or playing games. Wish there would have been a Christmas tree in lobby and a working fire but these are small complaints and we will definitely be back!

  • My wife and I were here for three nights to enjoy some winter solitude. The staff was great, and the facilities were very nice. The cross-country and snowshoe trails were an excellent, unexpected surprise—better than we had expected. The only negative was that there was no sit-down breakfast option.

  • Good: The staff makes this place amazing. I will come back because of the service. If I were younger, I’d want to work here.

  • Two things I didn't like were the fact that I arrived by train and they no longer transport you from the arrival platform to the hotel. THis could be a real problem in winter! Secondly, the dinner menu was very limited to what it was on my last visit and no real breakfast or lunch menu.

  • Good: Izaak Walton Inn has had a complete makeover which was badly needed. Rooms are comfy and clean. The bar is up and running downstairs & it is a fun place with good energy from staff. Bad: To have a true Montana vibe I would like to see softer western music in the dining area, not loud excitable music.

  • Good: Très bel hôtel, avec une belle décoration et l'originalité du chemin de fer. Chambre spacieuse. Lit spacieux.

  • Good: Really loved this hotel! Feels like sleeping at an upscale REI that caters to outdoor enthusiasts. From the functional hammock above the bed to the fully equipped room with microwave, refrigerator, and boot warmers, this is a great "basecamp" to explore Glacier National Park and the surrounding area. My wife and I (in our upper 60's who love to hike) would rate this as one of our favorites hotels we have stayed in. Definitely for a niche market, but if you love the outdoors and enjoy interacting with folks who do as well, this is a great place to stay. It exceeded our expectations and we plan to return. Bad: Nothing. Great room, restaurant, and overall service. No kidding. We loved this place!

  • Good: Staff was wonderful, the location was beautiful, and hearing the trains throughout the night brought me back to my childhood. I loved that the staff brought their dogs in for their shifts. And I loved that there was a strong outdoor activity vibe. Bad: I learned that the place had just changed hands so everything that seemed a little off was really just related to new staff settling in and renovations that were just a couple of weeks old. The customer service was excellent and none of these tiny bumps were an issue from my perspective (example- the shower had a plumbing mishap where the hot and cold lines were crossed. Once I figured it out I just put the shower on the cold setting and had a nice, steamy, muscle relaxing shower!)

  • Good: Great location close to east and west glacier. The rooms were clean and comfortable felt very homey. The staff was great, friendly and helpful full of ideas for stuff to do. The food at the restaurant was delish. I’d definitely stay here again. We were on a 17 day vacation and stayed here a week. It was our favorite place we stayed. Bad: Nothing
